Fun for the Whole Family
Pirate’s Cove is an established leader in the field of adventure golf theme parks, with 25 locations nationwide. This one in Brainerd is the only one in Minnesota, so you’re in luck when you visit Gull Lake! The adventures and legends of 18th century pirates will come alive all around you, as you putt through caves, under waterfalls, across a pirate ship, and more. Just don’t wake up the napping pirates in their hammocks!
While Pirate’s Cove is of course great for kids, adults will love it too. It offers enough challenge to be fun for all ages, and if you really love it, you can play both courses for a discounted 36-hole adventure! Children 3 and under play free. The season at Pirate’s Cove runs from the last weekend in April through the third weekend in October, so you have plenty of time to check it out every year.
Not Only Golf!
That’s right, this is more than just mini golf. Pirate’s Cove offers a beautifully landscaped theme park setting, so you might just enjoy the scenery as much as you enjoy the golf itself. With tons of attention to detail in the sunken ships, skull-shaped caves, and pirate dungeons, you’ll have a lot of fun just looking around. And the waterfalls offer a pleasant, peaceful touch to the grounds.
Billy Bones Raceway
Once you’ve golfed your heart out, head next door for some more action-packed excitement at Billy Bones Raceway, the adjacent (and similarly pirate-themed) go-cart speedway. With three tracks to choose from (and one especially designed for children), drivers can race around hairpin turns, zoom past pirate shipwrecks and old abandoned forts, and challenge their skills against other drivers. The Kiddy track is just for the little ones, while the Family track offers fun without too much competition. Those who really want to put pedal to the metal will want a crack at the Aggressive track, which offers separate racing sessions for adults and juniors to really put the speed on.
