Get Out and Go Biking
As the snow across the Gull Lake area melts away with the welcome arrival of spring, those who head this way in the name of fun will find it’s an ideal time to explore the many area trails on two wheels. Biking is a popular activity to enjoy in this area year-round but in spring, the trails come with an extra splash of color and excitement as flowers begin to bloom and wildlife emerges. There’s no need to worry about bringing your own gear if you’re hoping to pack light for your spring road trip. There are plenty of bike rental companies across the Gull Lake area as well as the surrounding communities that can offer up rental options by the hour, day or even week upon request. Try Fishing This Spring
When spring rolls around, the fish in Gull Lake start biting. This makes it a particularly exciting time of year for those who are enthusiastic anglers to plan a road trip this direction. In total, Gull Lake offers up over 9,900 acres to explore with a fishing line in hand. Many anglers are excited to find that it’s in fact only one part of the greater Gull Lake Reservoir chain of lakes! About 30 percent of the lake is shallower than 15 feet and boasts wonderful water clarity. The maximum depth across Gull Lake is measured at 80-feet. Those who cast a line here can expect to reel in everything from Northern Pike, Rock Bass and Yellow Perch to Walleye, Yellow Bullhead, Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Green Sunfish, Black Bullhead and more! While experienced anglers will find it inviting to get out on the water solo and enjoy the adventure, Gull Lake has plenty of options to book fishing charters or private guides when you could use a refresher or are trying for the first time.
